So, what does “The World’s Best Grandpa, Ever!” get for a One-year-old Granddaughter?
Why, a sneaker, of course!
But not just ANY old sneaker, of course. A big one. The size of a chair!
And, as requested by her mother, it is Pink Camouflage, of course.
Her “little” Birthday Party was outside on the front lawn, because A) That is where the tables and chairs were set up, and B) We had so many friends and family attending this event we never would have had enough room inside the house!
At first, I thought she could use it as a kind of nap-time bed until she grew up just a little bit more, but it turns out that she (and the sneaker chair) were both just the right size.
It was certainly fun to watch her open all of her gifts, but just before she got to open her final (and largest) gift, she was starting to get just a bit cranky. Nothing serious, of course, but it certainly is hard work to rip the wrapping paper off all those presents, just to have Mom and Dad take the present away and put another wrapped present in front of you.
But, just like in “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”, this chair was Just Right!
After all the presents were opened, it was time for the Main Event:
Watching a one-year-old get all sugared up, eating a cupcake.
Fortunately, we had already done a test run, as the immediate family had gotten together a couple of days earlier on her actual birthday.
I did notice that she learned a lot from eating that first cupcake. Much more of this second cupcake (and icing) made it into her mouth.
The eating was also just a little bit faster, also.
I told you she was smart!
